Finishing Processes After Welding

Grinding

Grinding is an abrasive machining process that uses a grinding wheel as the cutting tool. Grinding is a large and varied field within manufacturing and toolmaking, capable of producing very fine finishes and very precise dimensions.

Polishing is a process for creating a smooth, glossy surface by rubbing it or applying a chemical treatment, leaving a clean surface with significant mirror-like reflection. On certain materials — such as metals, glass, and dark or clear stones — polishing can also reduce diffuse reflection to a minimum.
