Pertinax is a multi-layer board pressed under high temperature and pressure. The base material is electrical insulation paper impregnated with synthetic thermosetting resins such as phenol-formaldehyde and cresol-formaldehyde, which make the board water-resistant. Pertinax is used as a structural material in machine building and equipment manufacturing, and as an insulating material in the electrical industry.
