Sanding of Parts and Burr Removal
After laser cutting, many parts need additional processing to be cleaner, safer, and better prepared for the next production steps. We offer machine sanding and burr removal for sheet parts up to 600 mm wide and 0.5 to 80 mm thick.
The process improves edge quality, reduces the need for manual finishing, and prepares parts for bending, welding, painting, or direct assembly. It is most commonly performed with P240-grit abrasive, but depending on the material and desired result, other abrasive grits can also be used.
We have suitable abrasives for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and for certain applications, acrylic as well. Sanding clear acrylic can achieve an even matte effect close to a satin finish.
For smaller parts, it is possible to leave them on the sheet after laser cutting and sand them together, which ensures more secure guidance through the machine, better repeatability, and more efficient processing of many pieces at once.
