GEISS Thermoforming Press

Handles material up to 12 mm thick

Industrial Vacuum Thermoforming

The GEISS machine heats and vacuum-forms thermoplastic sheets over a pre-manufactured mould. The process produces lightweight, durable and repeatable three-dimensional parts in a range of sizes and surface profiles.

The machine handles material up to 12 mm thick. It is suitable for ABS and other thermoformable plastics.

For small prototype parts we also operate a second vacuum forming machine — NEON, built in-house, with a working area of 500 × 500 × 250 mm. We developed it specifically to handle small components at a lower cost when the part is a prototype or a one-off. We also build custom vacuum forming machines, tailored to a specific size and process requirements.

Key capabilities

  • Working dimensions: up to 950 × 850 × 700 mm
  • Material thickness: up to 12 mm
  • Vacuum thermoforming
  • Second machine for small parts: 500 × 500 × 250 mm
  • Custom-built forming machines available

The machine works with ABS, HIPS and other thermoformable plastics. Heating is pulsed, with every element of the upper and lower heater controlled separately, and an infrared sensor reads the sheet temperature in real time. The cycle is automatic for series and manual for short runs; the finished part is released with compressed air. In typical work one part comes off every 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the mould and the thickness.
