Engineering Design, Prototyping & R&D

Engineering design and prototyping

This is the heart and engineering core of every service at NEON.BG.
This is where we turn ideas, sketches and photos into real, working products, ready for production – all under one roof in Sofia.

  • From idea and sketch to finished prototype
  • Engineering design, 3D models and drawings
  • Metal, plastics and combined products
  • Preparation for series and full production

Once we have a finished prototype, we move straight into production — laser cutting, CNC machining, bending or vacuum forming — depending on what the part needs.

"Send us your idea"

Attach a sketch, photo or file (DXF/STEP/PDF), and one of our engineers will give you initial feedback within 1 business day.

In short – what we do

What R&D means at NEON.BG
With us, you can go the whole way:

  • from an idea or problem you want solved;
  • through engineering design, 3D models and drawings;
  • to a finished prototype you can see, touch and test;
  • and, if you'd like, on to full-scale production at our own factory.

We work with metal, plastics and combinations of both – structures, trolleys, workstations, enclosures, covers, panels and much more.

Who this is for

Who this service is for

Can be shown as three columns / three cards:

A new product
You have an idea but no drawings

An idea for a new product, a solution to a specific problem, a sketch on paper, or a photo you found online – we turn it into a sound engineering design, a 3D model and a finished prototype.

Improving an existing product
You want to improve something that already exists

You have a product already on the market, but want it lighter, stronger, safer, or easier to manufacture and assemble – we help with redesign and optimization.

Validation before a production run
You need a prototype before committing to a series

Before investing in hundreds or thousands of units, we build a functional prototype and help you assess the risks, usability and cost.

How we work (4 steps)

How we work – a clear 4-step process

Shown as 4 horizontal steps or a vertical timeline:

Step 1 – Conversation and goal
We talk in plain language, no unnecessary jargon.
We clarify: what the product needs to do, what environment it works in, and what the constraints are (dimensions, load, budget, timeline).

Step 2 – Engineering analysis and proposal
Our engineers propose a sensible approach:

  • structure and materials;
  • suitable technologies (laser, bending, welding, vacuum forming, milling);
  • an estimated timeline and price range for the prototype.

Step 3 – 3D model, drawings and prototype
We build a 3D model and drawings, then produce a real prototype in-house – with our own machines and team. You get to see and test the product at full scale.

Step 4 – Testing, adjustments and preparing for a production run
Together we check: stability, usability, assembly, transport.
We make adjustments where needed and prepare the product for a production run – either at our facility or with your own manufacturer.

What products we develop (list / icons)

What we develop most often

  • Industrial trolleys and transport solutions
    Example: the NEON series (HOME/LIGHT/SMART/MAX) – trolleys with a low center of gravity, high load capacity, and patented safety features.
  • Workstations and industrial furniture
    Metal work benches, modular stations, cabinets, wardrobes, mobile shelving.
  • Metal structures and frames
    Machine stands, load-bearing frames, structures for panels and equipment.
  • Plastic enclosures, panels and covers
    Vacuum-formed parts with subsequent CNC finishing – covers, shells, panels.
  • Combined products
    Products that combine metal, MDF/particle board, plastics, acrylic, polycarbonate and other materials.

What you get in the end

What you get – not just an idea, but a solid foundation for production

  • 3D models (STEP and other formats)
  • Technical drawings with tolerances and assemblies
  • Bill of materials (BOM)
  • Recommended production process – operations and sequence
  • Estimated cost at different production volumes
  • On request – a finished, tested prototype

Why trust us

Why trust your idea to NEON.BG

  • In business since 2002, with a real factory in Sofia, not just an office.
  • The same team that designs also works on the machines every day – lasers, press brakes, robots, mills, vacuum forming equipment.
  • We speak openly – if we see a risk or an unjustified investment, we'll tell you.
  • We can sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to protect your idea.
  • We can handle the entire process – from the first sketch to serial production and delivery.

Ready to see your idea become a real product?

You don't need a "perfect" drawing to get started.
An idea, a sketch or a photo is enough – from there, it's our job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a finished drawing or 3D model to get started?
No — an idea, sketch or photo is enough; our engineering team will help with the rest.

Can you sign an NDA to protect my idea?
Yes — we can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share details about your project.

How fast do I get feedback after an inquiry?
You'll get initial feedback from one of our engineers within 1 business day.
